Information we collect

Order information. When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and the details of what you ordered.

Account information. If you create a customer account, we hold your name, email address, sign-in credentials, and your order history. Accounts are provided through our website platform.

Newsletter signups. The signup form in the site footer collects your first name, last name, and email address.

Messages you send us. Anything you include when you contact us by email or through a form on this site.

Technical information. Our website platform and the measurement services described below record standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view on this site.

We do not ask for government identification numbers, and we do not want you to send them to us.

How we use it

We use the information above to process, fulfill, and ship orders; to send order confirmations and tracking; to answer customer support messages; to operate customer accounts; to send marketing email to people who signed up for it; to calculate sales tax; to measure and target our advertising; and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Hosting and order processing

This website is hosted and operated on Squarespace. Squarespace handles the site's order processing, customer accounts, form submissions, and email campaigns on our behalf, and applies its own privacy practices as our service provider.

Payments

Payments are processed by Squarespace Payments. Payment card details are entered into and handled by the payment processor. PGL does not receive or store complete payment card numbers.

Email and marketing

Newsletter signups are handled natively by Squarespace, and the first name, last name, and email address you submit are stored there. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing John@ProfessionalGL.com. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop transactional email about an order you have placed.

Analytics and advertising

This site runs the following measurement and advertising services. They are loaded on ordinary pages of the site, not only at checkout.

  • Google Tag Manager (container GTM-M2RKH3K4), which loads the Google services below.
  • Google Analytics (property G-4LNSDPQ4VM), which records how visitors use the site.
  • Google Ads (AW-11058337491). Conversion tracking fires on the order status and order confirmation pages and transmits the order total and the order ID. Google Ads remarketing also runs on ordinary pages of this site, including the homepage, product pages, and the cart, so that we can show ads to people who have visited.
  • Meta Pixel (ID 1019908113094823), installed through Squarespace's Meta Pixel integration. It sends information about your visit to this site to Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, so that we can measure and target advertising there.
  • Squarespace also records its own analytics about visits to this site.

These services use cookies and similar technologies and are subject to Google's, Meta's, and Squarespace's own privacy terms. Google provides advertising controls at myadcenter.google.com, and Meta provides its own ad preference controls in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

These providers may use automated and machine-learning techniques to measure activity and to target and measure advertising, under their own terms and privacy policies.

Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work, including for the shopping cart, security, and basic site functions. Others are performance and analytics cookies used to understand how the site is used, and marketing cookies used for advertising and to measure it. The analytics and marketing cookies are set by the Google and Meta services described above; our payment and platform provider also set cookies needed to operate the store.

A cookie banner is shown when you arrive, where you can accept or manage cookies, and a “Cookie Preferences” control remains available on the site so you can review or change your choices at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of this site work, including the cart.

Automated systems and AI

This website is run using automated systems. Ordering, customer accounts, form submissions, order email, and search are handled by our website platform, Squarespace. Measurement and advertising are handled by the Google and Meta services described above, which use automated and, in some cases, machine-learning methods under their own terms and privacy policies.

Our site search matches the words you type against our product catalog. It is an automated keyword search and does not make any decision about you. We do not operate an AI chatbot or an automated customer-support agent on this site, and we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects about you or that similarly significantly affects you.

We use AI-assisted and other software tools internally to help us create and improve our own content — for example, to research, draft, edit, and organize product descriptions and other site content, guides, and marketing. A person at PGL reviews material before it is published. Using these tools does not mean you are interacting with an AI system on this site, and not all of our content is produced this way. This work involves our own business and marketing content. Because content can still contain mistakes, product information and any tips or guides are general information only and should be confirmed before you rely on them, as explained in our Terms of Service.

We also use AI-assisted tools to help us prepare and respond to emails and other communications. At times this means the content of a message — including a message you send us — may be provided to an AI-assisted tool to help us draft or edit a reply. Not every communication is handled this way, a person at PGL remains responsible for the response, and this is not automated decision-making about you. We use these tools only to help prepare communications, and doing this does not change the other ways we share information described in this policy. The providers of these tools are covered by the service-provider category in “Who we share information with” below.

When you write to us through a contact form or email, or submit a review, please share only what is needed for your question or your review. Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information through these fields — we do not need them, and we do not ask for them.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy of it;
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it, other than records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes;
  • stop using your information for advertising and advertising measurement; and
  • stop sending you marketing email.

Email John@ProfessionalGL.com to make any of these requests, and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can. We may need to confirm who you are first, usually by asking you to write from the email address on your order or account. We will not charge you, refuse to serve you, or change your prices because you made a request.

To stop advertising cookies straight away, you can also decline them in the cookie banner or block them in your browser.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the business:

  • Squarespace, our website host and commerce platform
  • Squarespace Payments, our payment processor
  • TaxJar, the sales tax service connected to this store
  • Google, for analytics, advertising measurement, and advertising
  • Meta, for advertising measurement and advertising
  • Shipping carriers, currently USPS and UPS, and the suppliers or fulfillment partners who ship your order
  • Providers of AI-assisted tools we use to help draft and edit communications — which may process the content of a message, including personal information contained in that message, for the purpose of assisting us in preparing or editing the communication, and not to make decisions about you
  • Professional advisors, and government or law enforcement bodies where we are legally required to do so

Where we ship

PGL currently ships within the United States only. Information is stored and processed in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep order and account records for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the service, handle returns and product questions, and satisfy legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We have not set a shorter fixed period, and we will not represent one that we do not follow.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email John@ProfessionalGL.com and we will remove it.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and payment card data is handled by our payment processor rather than by PGL. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
