“A change in the wind”
Professional Guitar Lessons (PGL) began not as a brand, but as me teaching lessons out of a simple passion: helping people grow as guitarists. Over the years, I saw the same need repeat itself- musicians needed reliable, affordable gear that could keep up with them on stage, in the studio, and at home.
That’s when PGL shifted from a teaching service into a musical products and accessories company. The name remained, not because we still teach lessons, but because it’s part of the story: PGL was built by a guitarist and teacher who wanted to serve other players.
“Since the beginning, PGL has supported local churches by donating capos, stands, and cables. These small acts remind us this company exists to serve, not just to sell.”
“From Sunday mornings to living room devotion, we equip worship leaders and believers with tools they can trust. Every note is an offering of praise.”
From the beginning, our heart has been to serve musicians. Today, that calling means equipping churches and worship leaders with gear they can trust.
The PGL Story
As a long-time player and former teacher, I know what it feels like when gear distracts from the music. My goal was never to sell “just another capo” or “another set of strings.” From the very beginning, the heart of PGL has been to design and provide products that help musicians focus on what matters—the music they’re making and, most importantly for us, the One they’re making it for.
Today, our mission is clear: equip worship leaders, churches, and Christian musicians with dependable tools for ministry and devotion.
Capos trusted by worship leaders for smooth key changes.
Strings crafted for consistent, worship-ready tone.
Cables & stands built to endure Sunday after Sunday.
Pedals that give clarity and strength to your sound.
A Mission Rooted in Service
This is not new for us. PGL has already donated gear to churches and equipped worship leaders at no cost. These small beginnings remind us that this company exists to serve, not just to sell. Whether it’s a local church receiving stands and cables, or a worship leader gifted with a capo, we are here to strengthen the sound of God’s people.
Where We’re Headed
From living room devotion to sanctuary worship, we believe every note can glorify the Lord. PGL exists to make sure the gear in your hands doesn’t hold you back. What started with guitar lessons has become something larger: a company dedicated to equipping musicians to lead with excellence.

Why the name “Professional Guitar Lessons”?
PGL began as a teaching service, founded by a guitarist and teacher who loved helping others grow. Over time, the company shifted from lessons to gear, but the name remained as part of our story. It reminds us of our roots: a company started by a teacher who still approaches everything with the heart of a guide.
How does PGL have such quality guitar products?
Dedicated Product Research and Consumer Analysis (Meet the Founder)
Johns search often starts with submersing himself in the current musical “culture” of the consumer. Asking himself questions such as “what new innovations please musicians?”, “what are guitar players happy with and what can be improved?”, “what are the product pitfalls of my competitors that the consumer finds unsatisfactory?”.
His stringent search moves deep into the education of materials, technology, and craftsmanship. Within the music Industry, there is a vast landscape of new design and age old vetted production which must be thoughtfully analyzed in the process of musical product acquisition.
After product research is completed and a value proposition has been established, PGL then engages craftsmen who are up-to the challenge of manufacturing his dreamed quality products.
And as all good stories find a happy ending, superior quality products are produced. Having trail blazed new paths in the music industry, customers are satisfied and loyal to the PGL Brand Community.

“I didn’t know what to expect but wow, this has everything I need in a capo, and more, a pick holder. It also comes with a handy case. It’s easy to grip and adjust and I like the weight of it. Works with my electric guitars and bass and I recommend this.”

“Not a bad little distortion pedal. Turn the gain down to about a quarter to a third and nice overdrive tones. Crank the gain and it will make tubes scream. I been playing thru this pedal for a couple days to give it a fair review and the results are I like it. Using it like an overdrive pedal, comfortably numb solos sound sweet. Turn the gain about half way and your in ZZtop zone. With the treble and mid controls, shape the tone to what sounds good to your ear. Sweet little pedal!”

'“Well made capo, it seems very durable and the spring tension is strong enough to give clean sharp notes but is easy to put on and take off. I like the carry case, it allows me to keep up with it and I Don have to put it on the head stock and risk messing up the logo. I like the pick holder, it doesn't get in the way and is so handy if I drop my pick while in the middle of a song. I also love the bridge pin puller built into the handle. I change my own strings and this is a nice touch. Great capo worth every penny.”
